SUFI AS AVD. BERGSFJORD

Bergsfjordbruket has officially become a vital part of the SUFI AS family

Bergsfjord, is a great destination for fishermens seeking to deliver and sell their catch. With this merger, SUFI AS will try to strengthen the local fishing community's prospects, ensuring streamlined processes for fish delivery, and offering new avenues for selling their hard-earned catches.

We hope Bergsfjord integration into SUFI AS network will help it become a prime destination for fishermen. We are excited about this new chapter and look forward to new challenges and possibilities. Together, we aim to bring new opportunities to the fishermen and contribute to the fishing industry in the Finmark region.

Winter Season Challenges

The total quantity of fish caught in Lofoten this year amounted to 29,533 tonnes.

This year's Lofoten fishing season has unfortunately not met expectations, with a decrease in the overall quantity of fish caught. However, amidst this disappointment, there is a glimmer of hope for some fish farms that have managed to land a significant amount of fish this winter.

The total quantity of fish caught in Lofoten this year amounted to 29,533 tonnes. This represents a decrease of 19.7 percent compared to the previous season. Several factors have likely contributed to this decline, including adverse weather conditions, lower quotas.

Fortunately, the Directorate of Fisheries has closely monitored the amount of fish received by each individual fish farm. The data reveals that most fish farms have witnessed a decline in their yield compared to last year. However, there is one exceptional farm continuing to lead the way this year.
Sufi AS has emerged as the top recipient of whitefish, just as it did last year. Despite the challenges faced by other fish farms, Sufi AS has managed to buy 3,800 tonnes of whitefish.

As the fishing season in Lofoten comes to an end, it is clear that while overall yields have been disappointing, certain fish farms have defied the odds and managed to make the most of this challenging period.

Overall, a relatively large decrease of caught fish may also mean a general increase in the prices of fish production.
